McGowan Russell Group Inc., in collaboration with Prairie Architects, Stantec and Nova 3 was commissioned in 2008 to prepare conceptual and detailed design and working drawings and undertake tendering, construction management and field review for the Wellman Lake Campground Expansion. Major components of the project included the establishment of 64 unique ecologically sensitive campsites, a safe road system that respects the existing topography and required minimal clearing, adjustment of the existing trail system and reestablishment of the native vegetation. Included were two washrooms / shower buildings, one at Wellman Lake and one at Childs Lake, incorporating innovative building design and system technologies.
