President and Principle Landscape Architect

Ms. Russell brings over 24 years of experience to our firm in urban design, landscape architecture, strategic planning and community consultation. As principle in charge, she is responsible for project management and is instrumental in the client and government liaison and approval process, community liaison process and the design development stage of all projects including Federal Laboratories for Health and Welfare Canada, Lagimodière Gaboury Historic Park, Provencher Park, St. Vital Shopping Centre, Sage Creek, Boyd Park, Margaret Scott Park, Main Street Streetscaping, Mosaic Market Streetscaping , Corydon Avenue Streetscaping and Transit Quality Corridors.

Prior to joining McGowan Russell Group Inc., Ms. Russell was Vice President and Principle Landscape Architect for Land Concepts Ltd. in Toronto and was directly responsible for such major urban design projects as Motorolla Corporate Headquarters, Skyway Business Park, Famous Players Development Corporation Corporate Headquarters and Freightliner Corporate Headquarters. Her relationship with her Toronto based clients continues to this day.

Currently, Ms. Russell is involved with numerous urban design and park planning projects including the CanWest Plaza, Winnipeg Blue Bomber’s Stadium Proposal, CanWest Global Park, Winnipeg’s Rapid Transit Project, Elzéar Goulet Memorial Park, Provencher Park Plaza Development, WinSmart Active Transportation Project, Qualico Corporate Head Office, Buhler Recreation Park, Old Ex Recreation Park Redevelopment and Sage Creek Parkway.

Vice President and Principle Landscape Architect

As Vice President of McGowan Russell Group Inc., Jackie Wilkie is responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of project requirements and is instrumental in the preparation of detailed design and construction drawings and the tender and contract management stages of all projects. With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Wilkie has been directly responsible for such notable projects as CanWest Global Baseball Park and Entrance Plaza, Charleswood Parkway, Pritchard Farm Properties, Pritchard Farm Southlands, Transit Improvement Projects, Mosaic Market Streetscape and Lagimodière Gaboury Historic Park.

Current urban design and park planning projects include CanWest Global Plaza, McGowan Park, Boyd Park, Harbourview Park System, Buhler Recreation Park, Amber Trails Park System, Osborne Village Safeway Plaza and Winnipeg Transit Stop Accessibility Design.

Senior Landscape Architect

As senior landscape architect, with 5 years of experience, Mr. Hirota is responsible for all aspects of project development including site analysis, preliminary design development, detailed design and construction drawings, tendering and contract administration. In addition, Mr. Hirota is instrumental in the preparation of all renderings, presentation graphics and materials for all projects.

Mr. Hirota’s experience has been acquired on urban design and park planning projects such as the CanWest Global Park Parking Lot Renovation, Waterfront Drive Streetscaping, CanWest Global Plaza, Victoria Jason Park, Margaret Scott Park and Sargent Tommy Prince Park and he is currently involved in CanWest Global Park Parking Lot Renovation, Waterfront Drive Streetscaping, CanWest Global Park, Margaret Scott Park, Sargent Tommy Prince Park and Victoria Jason Park.
